Travel vs Tourist: Which Are You?
The world of travel is full of diversity, with different types of people exploring the globe in their own unique ways. There are 2 big categories that you may fall into: traveler or tourist. While these terms are often used interchangeably, there is a significant difference between the two.
The Traveler
The traveler is someone who journeys to different parts of the world to explore, learn, and discover. They are not concerned with the typical tourist traps or the commercialized version of a destination. Instead, they seek out authentic experiences and connect with local cultures, customs, and people.
A traveler immerses themselves in a destination, spending time getting to know the locals and participating in local traditions. They embrace the adventure of travel and welcome the unknown. Getting lost isn’t something to fear, but something to embrace as it often leads to the best memories. Although hotels are nice, travelers may often prefer crashing on the couch of a local to the area they are visiting.
The Tourist
